Our Mission

The title of our course, ETC, or Expanding The Curriculum, is itself referential to the SLE curriculum and will expand the aforementioned with authors and texts within and outside of the Western canon. ETC is driven by three main goals: 1) to bridge SLE texts with modernity and challenge them within alternative contexts, 2) to cultivate a space for critical thinking and discourse, and 3) to empower students to take charge of their own learning. We hope that with these goals students deepen their engagement with SLE texts without concern for grading or judgment; ETC aims to be a space for intellectual growth and experimentation.
